Sitting beside my five-year-old grandson: The Optimism of Tim Entwisle

“What makes me optimistic?  It’s a close call. Sitting beside my five-year-old grandson as he wakes in the morning light or planting a tree. Both are long-term investments in hope and optimism.”

That's what Tim Entwisle told me this morning.

Tim Entwisle is the Director and Chief Executive of the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria.   I love spending time in these gardens and had the advantage over the last eight years that my children's schools were across the road from the gardens.  I love the historic nature legacy of the gardens, and I love the modern meditation spaces.

Tim is also President of the International Association of Botanic Gardens and an Honorary Professor at The University of Melbourne.
