It’s not always easy to be an optimist, but when you make that choice it can be a powerful force for change in your life.

“It’s not always easy to be an optimist, but when you make that choice it can be a powerful force for change in your life."

A very perceptive comment by Anthony CrewesColgate-Palmolive's marketing director, ANZ launching "The Sound of a Smile" campaign, said, “It’s not always easy to be an optimist, but when you make that choice, it can be a powerful force for change in your life."

“Championing optimism means we are committed to creating a healthier planet and work every day to create healthy smiles for all. It’s an honour to share stories of those that demonstrate the same mentality.”

"The Sound of a Smile" campaign builds on Colgate's partnership with the AFL which celebrates champions of optimism in the sport from AFL players to local clubs.

Alison Tilling said: “The Sound of a Smile work takes on a challenge: in Australian sport, we can be deaf to the pain of being ‘different’. The Yeronga Devils team were true optimists, acting on differences to get to real inclusion."

Aldo Ferretto, creative director at The Hallway, said “We can all use a little bit more optimism and kindness every day.”

Nóirín Mosley and I recently addressed the Colgate Advocates for Oral Health on the meaning of optimism, the science of optimism and tips and tricks for being more infectiously optimistic. Our number one tip is to "smile and say hello to everyone".
