Raul Sanchez-Urribarri Open to the Endless Possibilities of Life

“What makes me feel optimistic?  Being optimistic is a perspective on everyday life.  To me, it means being open to the endless possibilities of life, and its capacity to amaze and surprise you at any given time.  It is, at the same time, an exercise on humility:  We cannot know the future for sure, and that means that there is always an option that the most challenging circumstances can change or be overcome unpredictably.”

Raul Sanchez-Urribarri told me so when I asked him what makes him optimistic.

Dr Raul Sanchez Urribarri is Associate Dean (Academic and International Partnerships) at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Senior Lecturer in Crime, Justice and Legal Studies at the Department of Social Inquiry, La Trobe University.
