"What makes me optimistic? My glass is always overflowing and exponential!"
That's what Grace Hamilton told me when I asked her what makes her optimistic. Grace is a World Commerce and Contracting Council Member.
What makes you optimistic?
I asked Grace about positive leaders who have inspired her. Grace named the last Soviet leader, Mikhail Gorbachev, who died this year.
Grace said, "He broke down walls and borders. Optimism can be unnerving, but staying the course does not mean 'head in the clouds' full of la-di-da. Mikhail also pushed through with solutions, changing the course of history. He had industrial strength optimism Or optimism on steroids! It takes grit to keep it that way because pessimism is simply easier. My firstborn is named a variation of Mikhail with an appended 'a' at the end. I hope she also has a great encounter with optimism!"
