"It’s why we shouldn’t frame optimism as confidence that everything will work out as planned; we can’t possibly know that it will. Rather, we should see it as a willingness to move forward, anyway. Because what we do know is that “wrong” decisions often lead to perfectly fine and sometimes spectacular outcomes."
Zachary Karabell, the edgy optimist, shares his conversation with Simone Stolzoff.
"Optimism isn’t necessarily the idea that the world is headed towards a more beautiful place or that the future is necessarily better than the present, but it’s this idea that we all have agency to help shape what that future becomes," said Simone.
