The Optimism Roundtable

The Centre for Optimism's purpose is to help you find what makes you optimistic and how to be more infectiously optimistic.

The Centre for Optimism's Roundtables has run successfully in corporate boardrooms, corporate retreats, small businesses, universities, MBA courses, schools, leadership retreats, prisons, government departments, water corporations and meditation retreats.

Ideally, the roundtable runs with 10 to 16 people.

Depending on the conversation and numbers, it takes between one hour and two hours.

Typically, the program looks like this:

  • A short presentation on The How and Why of Optimism;
  • Q&A;
  • a short meditation or prayer to settle things;
  • the participants share what makes them optimistic;
  • and, a conversation on what's next

The program is usually delivered by our founder, Victor Perton, and can be modified to your needs.  We are very experienced at delivering via the Zoom on-line videoconferencing platform (see some of our online panels to get an idea).

We can add to the program with positive communications and media performance experts like our chair Robert Masters: And change Experts like Jeff-Kerr-Bell and Kay Clancy.

Preparation

Everyone finds using our 5-minute survey on "What makes you Optimistic?" a really useful preparation.  We will prepare a report comparing the starting optimism in the room with our global research findings.

Many people enjoy preparing with the "Habits of an Optimist" animated course.  This is often a family affair,

What comes Next?  Continuing the infectious Optimism...

After the program, there's usually a natural or planned grouping of the optimists who continue to meet, develop activities and may become brand ambassadors internally and externally. Many become members and subscribers to The Centre for Optimism to get updates and a daily dose of optimism.

We also have a new program called Beacons of Optimism, where we work with you to identify and transform self and peer-identified optimists from your ecosystem into brand advocates. Capturing their stories of optimism into engaging case studies and co-creating a communications plan to spread and embed infectiously realistic optimism in your culture to the world.

A helpful activity before or after the workshop is to collect answers to the question, "What makes you Optimistic?" We have a handy 5-minute survey monkey survey on "What makes you Optimistic?

The expressions of optimism can be captured for continued inspiration in book form or multimedia.

A micro-credential is very popular in "The Habits of an Optimist"which features expert content in an amusing animated form. It takes around an hour for a lifetime of optimism.

Follow Up Sessions on positive communications and media performance may be delivered by communications expert Robert Masters.

There are also optimism workshops for optimistic leadership, strategy and innovation.

We recommend that executive and team meetings start every three months with the question, "What makes you Optimistic?

We recommend a follow-up Roundtable every 12 months.
