Positivity and Optimism will change Australia for the Better

"What makes me optimistic? I hold an iron clad belief that there is ALWAYS hope. Tomorrow will come and it's a new day and you never know what good things you can make happen."

Lisa Fraser from LinkedinThat's what Leese Fraser shared with us, answering what makes her optimistic.

I also asked Leese her reaction to The Centre for Optimism's "Framework for a New Optimistic National Narrative" released today.

Leese told me, "This framework document is an excellent read with a collaborative invitation moving forward for all sectors of Government, business and the people of Australia to work together towards common practical and sensible goals.

"Personally, I have never agreed with opposing sides of the Parliament intentionally discrediting and disrupting the other side.

"Many people in Australia want a more inclusive and transparent attitude on all sides of Government and the Parliament. It is time the people had an opportunity to have a voice and be heard.

Media has a lot to answer for concerning society's exposure to endless amounts of negativity. The media needs to be held to a higher standard and to account for spreading fear and anxiety across the population.

Turn Down the News: Habits of an Optimist

"Business and its leaders must change the outdated ego mindset with "I am senior; therefore, I know best, and I will determine whether you shall rise or fall within the ranks".

"True leadership is always positive, uplifting everyone right down to the lowest-paid junior employee to be the best they can be and to develop their talents with nothing less than a positive, inclusive approach at all times. Businesses should be measured based on the reports of staff and consumers, with results being transparent and public for all to see.

"If the inner workings of business were public, it would quickly change a negative culture! But unfortunately, workplace abuse is rife throughout Australia and is an issue that must be addressed with severe penalties for those in a position of power who abuse their powers.

"The Centre for Optimism's Framework for a Positive Australian narrative proposes a National change in culture, and it must start at the top. Government and big business are the starting point to lead by example.

"I believe this is possible, and positivity and optimism will change Australia for the better."
