“What makes me optimistic and hopeful for the region is that I am fortunate to work with many passionate and committed people in the community who all work together to make Latrobe Valley a healthier and happier place to live," said [Tanya Rong](https://www.linkedin.com/in/tanya-rong/), [Latrobe Health Assembly](https://www.facebook.com/latrobehealthassembly?__cft__[0]=AZW7SeDDaE9UptYweDmT7CCwGSJg-n9iKreYs5Fbb6dnC8NXHQERI2_axSjeXVoRw0rt6N7w6VZDRWWyejc8cB9OGt3_cICmQT21vjSBMjDirPJkQAHVKEZmX3nZU7W8hsisldZ6hD7cG7HYjM9gLES3krbtc7-baZVFDRCs2viVQrm82K94Ou_hQlBPFhrdOo9DEJ8ZrxTk3hniD56wdlNvuMye1aQwDVss-hktf5ZRAg&__tn__=-]K-R) Chair.

A passionate and inspiring leader, Tanya is a [Monash University](https://www.facebook.com/Monash.University?__cft__[0]=AZW7SeDDaE9UptYweDmT7CCwGSJg-n9iKreYs5Fbb6dnC8NXHQERI2_axSjeXVoRw0rt6N7w6VZDRWWyejc8cB9OGt3_cICmQT21vjSBMjDirPJkQAHVKEZmX3nZU7W8hsisldZ6hD7cG7HYjM9gLES3krbtc7-baZVFDRCs2viVQrm82K94Ou_hQlBPFhrdOo9DEJ8ZrxTk3hniD56wdlNvuMye1aQwDVss-hktf5ZRAg&__tn__=-]K-R) Clinical Educator and an Intensive Care Nurse at [Latrobe Regional Health](https://www.facebook.com/LatrobeRegionalHealth?__cft__[0]=AZW7SeDDaE9UptYweDmT7CCwGSJg-n9iKreYs5Fbb6dnC8NXHQERI2_axSjeXVoRw0rt6N7w6VZDRWWyejc8cB9OGt3_cICmQT21vjSBMjDirPJkQAHVKEZmX3nZU7W8hsisldZ6hD7cG7HYjM9gLES3krbtc7-baZVFDRCs2viVQrm82K94Ou_hQlBPFhrdOo9DEJ8ZrxTk3hniD56wdlNvuMye1aQwDVss-hktf5ZRAg&__tn__=-]K-R).

Tanya generously shared her optimism for the Latrobe Valley as I prepared to support the C3 City Country Connect event in Traralgon on 16 August, part of the [Latrobe City Council](https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61554332879877&__cft__[0]=AZW7SeDDaE9UptYweDmT7CCwGSJg-n9iKreYs5Fbb6dnC8NXHQERI2_axSjeXVoRw0rt6N7w6VZDRWWyejc8cB9OGt3_cICmQT21vjSBMjDirPJkQAHVKEZmX3nZU7W8hsisldZ6hD7cG7HYjM9gLES3krbtc7-baZVFDRCs2viVQrm82K94Ou_hQlBPFhrdOo9DEJ8ZrxTk3hniD56wdlNvuMye1aQwDVss-hktf5ZRAg&__tn__=-]K-R)Business Festival. This year’s festival theme is "Strengthening Regional Growth Through Connections."

My role will be to provoke more optimism in our participants and friends.
