**"Optimism opens our mind to curiosity and creativity; both are very important to drive innovation, progression and growth, in the hope of bringing greater joy and laughter into everyone's life."**

That's what Stephen Soo, CPA told me when I asked him about the connection between optimism and joy as we at The Centre for Optimism join with The Art and Science of Joy to celebrate their [Year of Joy](https://theartandscienceofjoy.com/year-of-joy/).

The year of Joy will open on 17 January and, to my delight, will open with the Superpower of Optimism.

Join us for a global interactive web-gathering on 19 January 8pm EST, 5pm PST and 20 January 12pm AEST  - [register for free via Zoom](https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_-1zP9uFiSYKxpoxf3ZWM7A).

If you live in Melbourne, Australia come and join us for breakfast on the 21st January 8am AEST.  ([Book via Eventbrite](https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/port-melbourne-breakfast-joy-and-optimism-tickets-501065710027))

Stephen is a leadership coach in my book "[Optimism: The How and Why](https://www.amazon.com.au/Optimism-How-Why-Victor-Perton/dp/1686098375)", I quote Stephen as saying,

"Optimism puts you in the driver seat to your choice of creations."
