Julian Mather's Unapologetic Optimism
by Victor Perton

I asked Julian Mather what makes him optimistic.  Julian is a motivational keynote speaker on Leadership and Change.

Julian told me,  "I’m an unapologetic optimist: I see past the money to be made in telling people things are bad.

"I live through practical optimism.

"It starts with the words I use:
I say "obstacle", not "barrier"
I answer comments, "Yes and…"

"I’m invested in risky play: strong kids make stronger leaders make strongest societies.

"I have placed physical time capsules in the walls of my house to surprise and delight random strangers sometime in the future.

"When filming I don’t ask permission. I beg forgiveness later.

"I’m staunchly anti-Machiavellian: my future is lighter and brighter when I don’t have to worry about lies catching up with me

"I don’t live in past. I live in the future, but I am trying really hard to learn to live in the present."
